Ancient Cydonia
Kydonia, one of the most important and powerful cities of Western Crete, flourished right where the current city of Chania stands today. Kydonia prospered not only in the Minoan period, but also later, in the historical years.

The Venetian Port and Lighthouse
The Venetian port of Chania, including the Venetian lighthouse, is one of the symbols of the city and a favourite walking area for locals and visitors alike.

The House of Eleftherios Venizelos
The house that Eleftherios Venizelos was born - one of the most important politicians of Greece - is located in Mournies of Chania. The house of Venizelos today has been transformed into Museum, in which many personal objects of the ethnarch El. Benizelos and the Cretan history are exposed.

Archaeological Museum of Chania

The Archaeological Museum of chania was founden in 1963 and is located at the place of the Venetian Monastery of Agios Fragiskos in Halidon Street in Chania. The collection of the museum includes findings from excavations in several areas of the city that have been performed during the last 50 years, and its exhibits cover the cultural history of Chania from the neolithic period till the Roman Empire.

Maritime Musuem
The Maritime Museum of Crete is located at the entrance of the historical fortress "Firka". It was founded in 1973 in order to promote the nautical traditions and history of the island. The Museum cooperates and interacts with other Nautical Museums in Greece and abroad.

Frangokastello of Sfakia
Castle open and well-preserved. The area was named after the fortress built there by theVenetians in 1371, in order to control the area. It is believed that building materials from an ancient city of the region were used for the construction.

Old town of Chania
A town with an atmosphere reflecting its Venetian and Turkish past. Visitors can see the marks left by every civilization that has settled here for a period of time in the past.
